In our sessions together I will bring over 28 years of experience as a counselor serving children and families and 25 years of learning and personal growth raising two children. I earned my masters degree at the University of Washington and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. During my career I have worked in a outpatient mental health agency and in the school setting as an elementary school counselor. I am grateful to merge these two experiences in my private practice.
I work with preschool and elementary age children and their families to provide support and tools that help clients learn, heal, and grow as they navigate such things as: anxiety, grief & loss, emotional regulation, ADHD and family transitions (moves, divorce, blended, birth adoption)
I believe in a holistic and strengths-based approach as all of our experiences (physical, emotional, spiritual, and social) are integral in the person we are becoming, the choices we make, and how we feel.
My work with clients is grounded in a variety of evidence-based approaches including: attachment-based, play & expressive art, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral (CBT), narrative therapy and neuroscience. I am also a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. I have been intentional about growing as a clinician in these specific areas as it allows me flexibility to individualize my counseling services to best meet the needs of clients I serve.
